Huawei filed a trademark application for “Mate Watch” in May. In June, a leak revealed that the watch would run with HarmonyOS and be launched together with the Mate 40 series. Due to new reports, we may also receive another watch, one with a well-known name.
Huawei has received several certifications for a new Smartwatch called Watch GT 2 Pro. There is a chance that this is the Smartwatch that will be introduced together with the Mate 40 series and not with the HarmonyOS powered Mate Watch.
The Watch GT 2 Pro has been certified by various authorities including the FCC, ECC in Europe, SIRIM in Malaysia and IMDA in Singapore. It has been reported that one of the key features of the upcoming Smartwatch, whose model number is VID-B19, is support for 10W wireless charging.
The watch will have the same 455 mAh battery capacity as the Watch GT 2, but we cannot say if the battery life will be the same. One of the selling points of the Huawei Watch GT 2 is the two-week battery life. The upcoming pro version should offer more features compared to the Watch GT 2 and the Watch GT 2e and of course have a higher price.
The design of the Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro is unknown, but we expect that it will have a circular dial like its predecessors and will be available in different sizes.
